GRACIE TROTTER PREPARS FOR FIRST CARS TOUR ACTION OF 2018

(Rosemount, NC) April 18, 2018: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Following a pair of podium finishes at Concord Motor Speedway last weekend in her Legends car, 16- year-old racer Gracie Trotter is eager to get behind the wheel of her #2 TRD/Calico Coatings Toyota Camry for the CARS Tour Mid Atlantic Classic at Orange County (NC) Speedway, this coming Saturday night.

It’ll be her third start of 2018 in Super Late Model action.  Last June, Gracie piloted her Bond Suss-prepared machine to an 8th place finish in her Super Late Model debut at Orange County. She plans to build on that solid finish in her second start at this track.  “I was nervous last year since it was my first time…I feel a lot more comfortable, I know the car a lot better, and so I’m a lot more confident going into the race.”

The Mid-Atlantic Classic will feature some tweaks to the normal CARS Tour format, with controlled cautions and segments of 30, 60, 40, and 20 laps making up the 150 lap event. This offers an exciting strategic challenge for Gracie and her team, particularly regarding tires.  “We can choose to put on two, or four, or none,” says crew chief Bond Suss. “That will be the big decision, and what lap or segment to pit on.”

This highly anticipated Saturday night event, part of the CARS Response Energy Tour, has attracted a very strong field.    There’s a big purse on the line as well.   Gracie’s crew chief, Suss, knows that it’s going to be a battle. “The field is stacked with tough cars, 23 or 24 cars on the entry list,” Bond observed. “With the format of this race, there’s going to be some pushing and shoving.”

“I’m looking forward to it,” Gracie says of her first controlled caution and segment race. “The main goal is to finish all laps, like always. If you do that and stay patient you will usually get a good finish. And that’s our mindset as we go into each race.”

Saturday’s race goes green at 7:30pm ET.    16 year old rising star Gracie Trotter has a full slate of Super Late Model action scheduled throughout the 2018 season.

Who will get to drink the juice in Edelbrock Victory Lane? If you can’t be there in person, watch Gracie on Saturday on Carstour.tv (PPV) or on Roku on the CARS Tour channel.
